Dear Birth Mother,
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves. Our names are Kristian and Rebecca. Our hearts go out to you as you journey through your pregnancy. With this letter, we hope that you will find peace in whatever decision you make for you and your child. We hope you can take some comfort in knowing that there is no shortage of loving adoptive families out there, including ourselves. If you decide that adoption is the best option for you and your child, we hope that by getting to know us, you will have assurance that we will absolutely provide a warm and loving home for your child.
Now, a little bit about us. We met in college and have been together for 13 years with 8 years of marriage. We both have graduate degrees, promising careers, and we count our blessings while taking nothing for granted. We had the misfortune of not being able to have our own children naturally, and so for the past few years, we have been exploring options for expanding our family and feel that adoption is a wonderful way to complete our family. We feel that the two of us together have something very special to offer your child—education, family, and love. We feel well-prepared and equipped to provide your child with everything he or she needs to grow in order to reach his or her highest potential.
Rebecca is a sensitive, caring, and driven individual. She currently works as a research analyst and finds the work to be challenging and rewarding. Previously, she worked as a Dance teacher with children as young as three. She puts the needs of others first and ensures that they are cared for and supported. She has long awaited the opportunity when she could care for a child of her own. She is prepared to navigate this new journey with her husband and best-friend, Kristian.
Kristian is caring, fun, and adventurous. He has a successful career in finance, but his passion is family. Kristian enjoys cooking, golfing, and playing the guitar and piano, all of which lend well to his creative spirit. Kristian’s decision to adopt a child stems from his desire to share family experiences with a little one. He has experience with children from coaching youth lacrosse and cannot wait to share his zest for life and new adventures with a child.
Both sets of our parents play a big part in our lives as we are a very close-knit family. Rebecca’s family (parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins) and some of Kristian’s family all live within 10-30 minutes from our home. Much of Kristian’s family also resides on the east coast and in Spain, and we are blessed to be able to visit and celebrate holidays and birthdays. We feel incredibly supported by our family in our decision to adopt, and our family is very excited.
OUR HOME & HOBBIES
Our home is located in the Sierra foothills of Northern California. Our community has top-rated schools, lots of parks and walking/bike trails, libraries, churches, and stores. We are also close to the river and a couple of lakes where we like to occasionally go boating. Our home is a lovely one-story with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large, private backyard that is fully fenced with grassy areas, fruit trees, a small herb and vegetable garden, and covered patio and spa. Our neighborhood has mature trees and lots of outgoing families who host fun, family events, including a parade for Independence Day, pumpkin carving contests during the Halloween season, and progressive dinner parties during Christmas holiday.
Josie is our dog, who we adopted from a shelter at the age of two and has been by our side for the past eleven years. Josie is a lab-sharpei mix and brings a great deal of joy to our life. She is gentle and loves children.
On the weekends, we enjoy visiting various local towns, collecting antiques, and trying the local cuisine. We also enjoy going to concerts, baseball games, and community events, such as Christmas at the Zoo and charitable Crab Feeds. On occasion, we enjoy visiting San Francisco or Lake Tahoe with friends and family.
Our passion is to travel and to experience different cultures, foods, and styles of life. Since being married, we have visited various countries in Europe and Asia, and we love trying famous foods in different U.S. states. Traveling is important to us as it is time to draw closer to the world and each other. We hope to share these adventures with your child as well as explore places we have yet to see.
Adopting your child and providing a supportive home full of adventures, laughter, and love is our promise. We are committed to your child’s development and future and hope you will consider us should adoption be the best option. With Much Love and Respect,
