Dear Birth Mother,
We are a family of four plus a loving little dog. We know there is another child out there that would thrive in our warm, caring, fun-loving family. We can’t pretend to know just how you feel at this moment. Our hearts feel for you and we want to let you know that you are the most strong and amazing parent. What you are doing for your child can’t be explained in words. We have thought a lot about this difficult and overwhelming time for you. So many things to think about, so many options, and only one courageous you. We admire you, we really do. If we end up being lucky enough to bring your child into our home, we will spend the rest of our lives loving your child, taking care of him or her, and giving your child a place in this world where he or she is secure, safe, and comforted. Knowing that the decision you made was out of love and concern, whatever you decide, we think you are brave. Your child is lucky to have parents considering what is best for the child. Thank you for considering our family. We promise you won’t regret this difficult decision. This is a little history about us:
Kevin and I have been happily married for 12 years. We are an intellectual, adventurous, healthy, generous and open minded couple. We met almost 15 years ago in Bolivia. It was love at first sight. Since we met, we have been together to this day. We are just perfect for each other. During these 15 years we have been traveling and living around the world, making friends, visiting family, helping communities and learning from and about different cultures.
After the first six years of a fantastic marriage and adventure we decided to have children. We have two wonderful healthy boys (ages 6 and 4), but for a long time have been dreaming about adding a third child to our family. We know that there are many children that need a loving family and we are absolutely sure that we can offer that. We have, together as a family, decided that adoption is the way we want to add that precious 3rd child to our lovely family.
Ana: I am originally from Bolivia. I am a former family physician . I see myself as a fearless, determined, charismatic and energetic person. Staying healthy and enjoying every minute of life are some of my priorities. I loved my career, and used to help people as much as I could. I loved helping everyone but my main focus has always been women and children. To the day I am always trying to get involved in charities as much as I can. All the traveling I did around the world has helped me see life differently. I love running and exercising a lot. I am a very active person and I try to teach that to my children. Eating healthy is also very important for me, so I love cooking every meal for my family. After I had my kids, I decided to become a stay at home mom because I want to be there for my children. I am ready and happy to add a lovely child to my family. I know I am the best mother I can be for my boys, and that is exactly what I’ll be for all my children. I have experience, knowledge, time, energy, patience and so much love to give!
Kevin: I am a caring hardworking person with a great sense of humor and a lot of patience. I love to spend time with my family, travel, hike, camp, fish and play sports. I was a teacher for 15 years in International Schools around the world. I absolutely love working and helping children. I have always been an open minded person, but living out of the country and being exposed to so many different cultures helped me grow as a person and gave me a better understanding of what is important in life. When Ana and I decided to move to California (back for me) I switched careers. I was a winemaker for a few labels/wineries for years, but now I have started my own winery/business. My family has always been my priority. Now that I am my own boss, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to spend even more time with my family. I am so lucky! I have always wanted to add a third child and I can’t think of a better time than right now!
Our Home: We live in a wonderful, quiet, kid friendly neighborhood in the wine country in Northern California. We have a beautiful two story home with lots of space and plenty of room for the kids to play. We have wonderful weather here, so we spend a lot of time in our backyard playing on the lawn, in the sandbox, in the playhouse, or just relaxing. We live just a block away from a couple of great parks and a short walk away from the local store and restaurants. Our city is a wonderful place to raise children. We have a wonderful community, excellent schools, great hospitals and most important great families. We are a multiracial family, and we feel comfortable and very welcome in this town. We looked into a lot of places to move to when coming back to the U.S and chose this area for these reasons. We spend our free time enjoying our lovely downtown, hiking in our great parks, or heading out of town on an adventure. There is so much to do in this area. It is a fantastic place to live! We are also lucky enough to have time to travel a few times a year. We love to ski, head up to Oregon, camp, or visit or friends around the world or just spend quality time with Ana’s family in Spain. I hope this letter gives you a better understanding of our family.
Thank you!With love and hope,
Ana and Kevin
