Would Love To Adopt A Baby

A Letter To You...

Dear Expecting Parent(s),

Even though we haven’t met you yet, we would first like to Thank You for the opportunity to share a little bit about ourselves and give you a glimpse as to how welcomed your child will be into our family. We can not begin to imagine what a trying time this must be for you and we would like to take a moment to honor you for your strength, love and courage it has taken you to come to this life plan for you and your child.

We are Amanda and Michael.

Our beginning story is a funny one, and something Michael loves recounting to our friends often…

Our first date was at a beach side restaurant where Michael had requested to be seated by the wide spanning windows that overlooked the Pacific Ocean.

With gorgeous views of the sun setting over the ocean we were so completely captivated by each other and engrossed in thoughtful conversation that by mistake we forgot to even order dinner for the evening.

From there we’ve had and continue to go on many dates and adventures.

We have been together for almost 7 years and married for three of them. We are a very family orientated couple, Michael with his very large family and Amanda with her smaller but very close knit family.

We have both known that we wanted to be parents someday and that adoption was going to be our path.

Even though we are not able to conceive a child on our own, it doesn’t make us sad or regretful. Instead it has given us the chance to welcome a new life into our family. Amanda’s father was adopted as well as one of her cousins and Michael also has family who have adopted. Together they have shown us how amazing this decision can be in our lives. For us family is deeply about the connections you make and not just the biology that you share.

We love being with both sides of our family, Michael with his many nephews and niece, Amanda with her Uncles and Aunts.

We live in a very open spaced home with 2 full living rooms. We have large front and back yards. We even keep a vegetable garden during certain times of the year in our backyard.  We love entertaining family and friends with barbecues and game nights. Our neighborhood is very peaceful, with several parks within walking distance and amazing neighbors with children surrounding us on all sides. We are also walking distance to the school and community pool.

We wish to be parents for one simple reason, we want someone to pour our love and knowledge into. We both know that children are a product of their environment, and want the chance to raise a child in a home of love, understanding, respect, and curiosity. Curiosity may have caught your eye, and it is something that we believe should be encouraged as it drives a passion and thirst for knowledge. We want to assure you that if we are selected, your child will be encouraged to grow and excel in all aspects of life, while being supported and cared for with unconditional love.

Michael about Amanda,

Amanda is the most compassionate, understanding and selfless person I have ever met. She has reinvented herself professionally from a Dental Specialties Assistant into an Account Manager, all through embracing the idea that anything is possible with hard work.

Most recently, she has taken time away from work to teach and educate herself about not only becoming a parent, but educating herself about becoming an adoptive parent.

This renewed focus has allowed her to further foster and grow relationships with family and friends as well as highlight what she and I believe to be the core values of parenting.

Her dedication to becoming a mother is first and foremost of her priorities and why she has taken the last year to prepare herself, knowing full well that preparation is only a small step before motherhood.

She is also an avid skydiver, and has placed in the national championships. She is one of the safest athletes I have ever seen, after a long life around many sports myself. She was also an accomplished skydiving instructor, teaching many students how to thrive in the sport and still mentors to this day.

Amanda has showcased her maternal instincts with her niece and nephews, encouraging their love of animals, swimming, reading, and caring for their infant brothers or sister. She also connects with my second cousins who are teenagers in a deep and impactful way, helping to encourage them to stay focused in school and handle the challenges of middle school. Amanda will be an amazing mother, of that I have no doubt. Her heart is as large as anyone’s; her desire to nurture, protect, inform, and instill strong values are some of her best attributes. It is for these reasons and so many more that I know Amanda will be an amazing mother.

Amanda about Michael

Micheal grew up in a coastal town with two older brothers and both of his parents. While growing up he participated in several sports including swimming, wrestling and football. More often than not, there was always a friend or two who was brought home and welcomed for dinner. Michael also went on to coach High School wrestling and football while he was in college. Being able to teach a part of the next generation core life skills such as teamwork and integrity through the context of sport has been one of the most rewarding experiences for Michael in his life.

Michael went on to graduate from University with a Major in International Business and a minor is Religious Studies. When he’s not working as a Fleet Manager you can often find him working on projects like the custom garden bench he built for Amanda, playing different video games, reading various Star Wars and historical books, or catching up on the latest DC or Marvel universe film.

Michael is a caring and devoted uncle to his several nephews and niece. While we may have an unspoken rule for the adults that they may not show favoritism to the children, it’s clear in the children’s eyes that he is their favorite. With each of them, he spends individual time with them. On their level. Learning whatever it is that they have a special interest in. Whether it be anything about Star Wars (a long family favorite), helping them to learn to swim or making up a story to a book that has no words but only pictures, the children know that his attention is always fully theirs.

It is because of this and many other things that Amanda knows that Michael will make a great father.

We know that this is a stressful time for you, trying to figure out the best options for you and your child’s future. Creating a plan and placing a child for adoption is such a selfless act that is done with the utmost amount of love one can possibly muster. Your child will know of every ounce of love that went into this decision. We hope that you feel loved and are supported in this decision.

We promise to love and cherish your child.

To guide them as best as we are able to and provide them with a safe and happy home.

We promise to be patient and always willing to listen.

We promise to encourage them to try new things and have a thirst for knowledge.

We will make parenting mistakes. We aren’t perfect and are human after all. But they will learn that mistakes happen, to be humbled by them and to learn how to healthily grow from them.

But most of all, we promise that they will always know of your love and be loved by us.

With Great Love and Gratitude,

Thank You for bestowing upon us the opportunity to share a part of our lives with you and for your consideration of us to parent your child.
