Dear Birth Parent,
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We would like to start by expressing our respect, admiration, and thanks for your courage in choosing adoption for your baby. We want to reassure you that if chosen we will provide a loving, stable, fun, and safe home where your child can grow into the person they are destined to be. Due to fertility issues, we are unable to have children but we are so excited for this next chapter of our lives and can’t wait to meet our future child. Our hope is that this letter gives you a snapshot of our life together. Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents.
About Jennifer (written by Aaron)
Jennifer is the most amazing woman I know. She is kind, generous, and a joy to all those who meet her. She is the only person I can spend hours upon hours talking to, the only person that can make me laugh until I cry, and the ONLY person who can remember every single lyric to any 90s R&B or Pop song. We love spending time together no matter what we are doing. Jennifer was born to be a mother. From being the oldest of three sisters, to nannying on her summer breaks, to teaching preschool for children with special needs, to her role as a director of a daycare, to now acting as Children’s Director for a large non-profit organization, she has worked with children all her life. Children are her passion and they love her just as much as she loves them. Her three young nephews adore her and love spending time with their aunt Yaya (the boys gave her that name). Jennifer is extremely talented and I loved learning of all of the hobbies she has picked up over the years. She is a modern-day Betty Crocker when it comes to decorating cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, can find the best deal at any store, and is the queen of party planning. Our kids are destined to not only be creative but have a love of doing things to make others feel special. Most importantly though, Jennifer has a huge heart and will love our future child with everything she has.
About Aaron (written by Jennifer)
Aaron is without a doubt the most thoughtful and generous person I have ever met. He goes above and beyond for every person in his life and is unconditionally loving and reliable. He is consistently understanding and patient and we balance each other in all the right ways. We love to do projects together and having a husband who can make, fix and design pretty much anything makes it that much more fun. He can do anything he puts his mind to and always finishes what he starts. One of the reasons I knew he was the man I wanted to marry was because of how he acted with my nephews. They have admired him from the start – so much so that they even changed his name from Uncle Aaron to Uncle Batman as soon as they could. He plays with them as a friend, teaches them as a mentor and always encourages them to be individuals. He will be the most amazing father and I can’t wait to see how wonderful he is with our future children. I am so lucky that he is the man I get to spend the rest of my life with.
Located in a wonderful family-oriented neighborhood, our home has two stories, which includes five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a large game room that our nephews love to play in. We’ve had so much fun the last few months transforming one of our spare bedrooms into a nursery for our future child. From decorations and furniture to toys and bottles, we’ve been enjoying shopping for all of the items that a baby might need. Our house is located on a large corner lot with mature trees and a big fenced in backyard. We live within walking distance to a top ranked elementary school, as well as three neighborhood parks, walking trails, and a community swimming pool with a splash pad. We love the close-knit community that we call home, where kids play outside and even set up lemonade stands in the summer.
Our Friends & Family:
We are so thankful to be surrounded by an amazing community of friends. We’ve made life-long friends through our church, work, and neighborhood. We even have several families in our circle of friends with adopted children, two of them were adopted through Little Angels. We are so thankful for their love and support through the adoption process.
For us, family is at the center of everything. We both grew up in tight knit families and understand the value in spending time together. We are lucky to have our large extended family of our parents, siblings, nephews, and grandparents living just minutes away from us. We have a standing Sunday dinner with Jennifer’s entire family every week and when were not together, FaceTime calls are the next best thing. Our families LOVE traditions! We host Thanksgiving for our entire family every year – cooking together, watching football, going out for Black Friday shopping, and then putting up the Christmas tree. On Christmas Eve, after attending church, we all spend the night at Jennifer’s parent’s house where we watch Christmas movies and help our nephews decorate cookies for Santa. The next day the boys wake us up as early as they can to open presents in our holiday pj’s. Our traditions get more and more fun as our family grows and we can’t wait to start more of our own with our new baby.
In addition to Jennifer’s extensive background with children, our family members have experience in many different areas that will be beneficial to a child’s upbringing. We have two retired teachers of 30+ years, a pediatrician, a high school teacher, a children’s librarian, an editor of children’s textbooks, and countless seasoned moms and dads. Our family is as diverse as it is experienced, and we always have someone to go to for advice about children. Our families are both extremely supportive of our decision to adopt and they can’t wait to welcome another child into the family.
Our promise to you is simple. We will love our child unconditionally, we will raise them to be compassionate and respectful, provide them with security and an education, and most importantly, we will do everything in our power to ensure they have the best life.
