Ron & Mary
Dear Birth Parent,
Thank you for taking time to read a little bit about us. It is true we cannot understand fully the array of emotions you are feeling, but know we will be kind and patient, since we do recognize the courage it takes to consider adoption. We definitely are humbled to possibly be part of your adoption plan and thank you for this amazing opportunity to parent one of the greatest gifts, a child.
We are Ron and Mary and we reside in Northern California. We met while on the same team for Tough Mudder. We quickly came to realize we both enjoyed our time spent together, had similar interests and more importantly desired to have a Christ-centered relationship. We married a year later amongst family and friends and continue to strive to love, respect and serve one another. While dating I shared with Ron my desire to adopt since I had always wanted to be a mother, but was unable to have children. We felt it was important to build a strong marriage foundation before taking the steps to adopt. So, now we are ready! We are thrilled to be able to open our home and hearts to a child and desire to complete our family.
Ron has 2 adult boys, Cameron and Nick who live locally and who we enjoy having taco nights, playing games or just hanging out together. Both are kind and respectful men who are excited to welcome a new sibling. Mary’s brother, parents, nephews and niece also live locally. We are very fortunate to have most of our family close so our new child will have tons of love showered on them, in fact my 8 yr. old niece is already asking if she can baby sit when she gets older.
Our Daily Lives/Routine
Mary has been working in the mortgage field for about 16 yrs. and works part-time at home. Ron has been a mailman for 24 years. Like most couples we can be busy with work and extracurricular activities. When we aren’t working we enjoy cooking together and hanging out with one another (we really like each other J). In addition, we enjoy having people over, playing silly games that make us laugh until our stomachs hurt and just being present with our family and friends. I (Ron) enjoy biking, running and watching the San Francisco Giants. Mary enjoys biking, running and hiking, but I would have to say her greatest joy is enjoying her niece and nephews and being Aunt Mary. Finally, what keeps our marriage strong and thriving is our common beliefs in our faith. We enjoy Sunday services and building strong relationships and we are determined to live out our faith by serving others and one another.
Why We Want to Adopt
We want to adopt so we can love and care for a child. We have been blessed with wonderful children in our lives that range from cousins, nephews, nieces and friends’ children and we value the relationships we’ve created with them. It feels very natural for us to welcome a child into our home that we can teach about loving others, forgiving others and who God has made them to be.
Thank you for taking time to read a little about us. I’m sure I speak for both of us that raising a child is a huge responsibility and we are honored to do so, if you choose us as adoptive parents. We will love and cherish the special gift that he/she will be.
