Chris & Tara
Dear Birth Parent
Our names are Chris and Tara. Thank you for allowing us to introduce ourselves. We recognize and appreciate the difficult decision you have to make placing a child up for adoption. We are honored that you are taking the time to consider us as parents for a child and giving us the opportunity to expand our family, as we have always wanted to do.
Chris and I both grew up in Northern California. We met when Chris came into the pet store where I was working. He asked me to go for coffee and we began dating thereafter. A year and a half later we were married. We’ve been married fifteen years. We purchased our home in 1999 in a safe and quiet neighborhood on a half-acre.
From the time we started dating, we both knew we wanted children, but due to medical reasons, I’m not able to give birth. Our lives together have taken us on paths we would never have imagined, such as infertility, but the challenges only made our relationship stronger. We understand that God’s plan for us is to adopt and we lovingly accept that plan. We’re both very excited about having another child as a part of our family.
We have been fortunate to have adopted a child. A remarkable couple chose us to parent their baby girl in 2006. Heather Ashley is such a blessing for both of us. Being able to love and care for her has been the most rewarding undertaking. Heather wants a sibling more then anything. She asks all the time if she is getting a brother or sister today, and we are looking forward to the opportunity to provide a loving home for another child.
Chris is a great and loving person. He is intelligent and has enormous talent in everything he attempts. He can build and fix almost anything. He especially loves to fix and trade Volkswagen cars. During the past 20 years, he has rebuilt too many to count. He has been a truck driver for the past twelve years. He loves children and would go to the end of the earth to provide a loving, supportive, and stable home. Chris has been the best Dad and always makes sure that his family is well provided for.
Tara is a very warm and compassionate person and loves children more than anything in the world. She has always dreamed of having a large family, a big ranch, and lots of animals. She will always do whatever she can to help her family and friends. She is a very supportive wife and a strong, hard working person. For the past fifteen years, she has worked at a large grocery chain. She also loves to bake and decorate wedding and special occasion cakes for family and friends. She is very involved with her family, and enjoys helping to care for her nieces and nephews.
Chris grew up in a family with 3 children. He has an older brother Shawn and his younger sister Mandy was raised by his father and stepmother, who have been married for thirty years. Neither Shawn nor Mandy have children of their own. Heather is the first grandchild in their family and they adore her.
Tara’s parents have been married thirty seven years and have six children, three girls and three boys. Between the six siblings, there are fourteen grandchildren and another one due next year. Tara’s parents and three of their children live locally and get together for family gatherings frequently. The other three children live in Idaho and Los Angeles. Both Chris and I are very blessed to have families that love and support us through life.
Thank you again for taking the time to get to know us through this letter. We are very anxious to be able to provide a child with a good home with an emphasis on education, family, and love. God bless you with the decision that you have to make, hopefully allowing us to have another child to be a cherished part of our family and lives.
